Having a Roarin’ Good Time at Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru

Alpha Omega Family Adventures was hosted by Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru. This does not affect the opinions shared. All opinions are our own.

Our family has really missed adventuring out and finding fun places to go on the weekends since all of this COVID stay at home situation began. We’ve been enjoying some of the new low contact things to do. Jurassic Quest was such a fun, perfect low contact thing to do! In normal years, Jurassic Quest is an indoor adventure where guests walk through the dinosaurs, but due to current situations they have revamped their experience and postponed previously scheduled walk through exhibitions. We were very fortunate to be hosted by Jurassic Quest to experience this drive-thru!

Jurassic Quest is a drive-thru experience that travels around the country and is only open for a couple weeks at a time in each location. This is the last stop in Texas for the year. There is also an exhibit currently in Ft. Lauderdale as well. Upcoming events for 2021 include locations in Pasadena, Costa Mesa, and Pomona, California.

I’m going to be a little honest here… as we drove up to get in line, it doesn’t look very impressive. I was thinking, hmm, just a lot of cars in a line in a parking lot with some dinosaurs. My kids aren’t even that into dinosaurs! But, once we started the tour, we were quite impressed! The audio tour really makes the whole experience. We all learned so much going through this drive-thru exhibit. The audio tour teaches the correct way to say each dino’s name and a bit about the locations they came from. Interesting or unique facts were also talked about on the tour. (I’d highly recommend downloading Sound Cloud before you go, the audio tour will play in a browser as well). The experience takes about an hour to go through it. At the end of the tour, you get a free adventure picture you can download at home!

The tour starts with a baby dinosaur greeting with the cutest little dinos ever! Did you know that some dinosaurs had fur? I had no idea! We saw some of the tiniest dinosaurs all the way to Gigantosaurus, ending with Megalodon! The Megalodon was positioned next to a bus so we could compare how huge it was to a current day bus! The pictures just don’t do it justice! It is definitely more impressive in person. These dinosaurs look so realistic too!

There are a few rules:

  • Jurassic Quest accepts no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle, persons or property by dinosaurs
  • Keep doors closed and stay in your vehicle. (I would recommend having kids use the bathroom before starting the tour. There are port-o-potties around the tour, but it means walking in between moving cars. )
  • Speed limit is 5 MPH
  • Touching of the dinosaurs is strictly prohibited
  • No smoking on premises
  • Jurassic Quest is not required to issue refunds due to inclement weather

This was definitely an experience that is perfect for every family to enjoy! Not only is it fun, but it is also educational. Go to Jurassic Quest to get your tickets before they sell out! This tour is only going to be at the Katy Mills location through December 20th. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but open from 9am through 8pm the other days. There are also Quest packs that can be added on to your tickets for even more fun! Check out the website for more information.
